Each month this year I’ve sought to take the month and read a book. Last month was Atomic Habits, before that it was an art history book and before that it was Art of War. This month it’s Big Book 4 of Berserk. When I read manga, I tend to zoom through it. This month, I’m going to take the whole month to read it rather than the day or so that it normally would.

In the first chapter, Guts talks with a smith. The smith doesn’t think smithing makes him happy, he works to improve his craft, has swung the hammer since before he could remember, and enjoys seeing the sparks.

As a child I liked being proficient in everything I could. Every school subject and extracurricular, I wanted to be proficient and good at it.

As an adult, I’ve lacked talent that would be built by specializing. However, it’s how I’ve lived my life. Seems detrimental sometimes, nowadays specialization is oftentimes important.

Anyways, with Blender I’ve felt tapped out. I spent a lot of time in Blender, I enjoyed it much, I can return to it at any point in time.

Here is a few bars of drums made in FL studio. I liked the first four measures more than I like the final four bars.

Edit: Just as I felt bored of Blender and willing to back out my friends sent me things to print out.

My friend Lucia specifically sent a jellyfish with articulated legs. I like printing things for them, but the model she sent me was bunk. Had a bunch of unprintable overhangs, weird design portions. I ended up fixing the model and printing it. The top portion is my own creation, the bottom legs are not.
