There’s probably a reason why I can’t find a model for a micrometer.
I’m guessing that 3D printers just can’t make great micrometer. They need to be really precise after all, and 3D printers likely can’t replicate the kind of precision needed for even a “good” micrometer.
I might be able to make a bad one though, or one that could be used in a pinch.
So I’ll ride with the thought for awhile.
Honestly, I have no idea what the internals of a micrometer looks like. I could probably find a blueprint out there.
If planning a final model, I’d likely choose ABS for rigidity, and the fact that it can be vapor-smoothed.
