So materials are pretty foreign to me in Blender. This is ironic because I’ve seen that Blender is powerful with materials, and creatives who use Blender tend to understand and use materials often. Not me tho.
Yesterday I wanted a gradient on a grid. I understand now that my method wouldn’t work. Today I got this one face to be a different material. Yay!
Honestly, I’m not sure why I care all that much. I’m about to start a CAD internship in manufacturing. Imo, if I kept making mechanical 3D prints, I’d probably feel even more bored and burnt out. But experimenting with materials just ends up being a fun practice and learning experiment. And it’s easier to write off doing just a little as practice.
