Worked on a mandrel in Blender (sorry no pics), but it didn’t work out.

People sometimes take a strand of filament, wrap it around an object, and then heat the filament up to make a spring.

The mandrel model will let people define pitch, diameter (OD or Bore), and height. The mandrel must be printed with an engineering filament that can handle heat deflection.

Unfortunately, the CAD tools I used were uncooperative. Blender is likely not the right CAD for the job either.
